Are the steps included with The Barrel?
Yes. A set of custom-fit steps is included with every Barrel purchase. They are engineered for safe, stable entry and exit at full barrel height. The barrel collection (excluding the black cyber barrel) also counts with an inner step that also works as a seat.
What is the Contrast Edition?
Contrast Edition is the world’s first dual-orientation contrast therapy system. Contrast Edition Commercial combines a vertical barrel and a horizontal tub, both fully insulated and crafted from 316 marine-grade stainless steel. Includes one 1.5 HP commercial cooling system and one 1.0 HP ChillX heating and cooling system. Each tub operates independently, and either system can connect to either tub.
What's the difference between the residential and commercial configurations?
Residential includes two ChillX systems, each cooling to 32°F and heating to 107°F. Commercial includes one 1.5 HP commercial-grade cooling system, cooling to 37°F, and one 1.0 HP ChillX, cooling to 32°F and heating to 107°F. Both configurations provide independent temperature control for each tub.
What does initial installation look like?
Typical setup takes under 20 minutes, excluding filling, cooling, and site preparation. The commercial cooling system requires a dedicated 120V, 15A outlet. ChillX requires its own dedicated 110V (60 Hz), 15A outlet. No permanent plumbing is required for typical installations. Custom direct-drain configurations require planning and installation by a qualified plumber.
What kind of maintenance does the Contrast Edition require?
Maintain each tub separately with an active sanitizer. Follow the applicable equipment user guides, your sanitation-system instructions, and local health department guidelines. Adjust filter maintenance, cleaning, and water changes to usage and water quality. Ozone and filtration do not replace the required sanitation routine.
Can the drainage system be customized for my space?
Custom direct-drain configurations are available upon request. Our team can help plan the layout and incorporate it into your floor plan. Installation requires a qualified plumber.
Does the Contrast Edition include steps or entry assistance?
The vertical barrel includes a movable exterior staircase and a built-in interior seat/step. The horizontal tub offers a lower entry height.
How do I control the temperature in each side?
Control ChillX through the Polar Monkeys app or directly on the unit. Control the commercial chiller using its physical panel. Both systems operate independently, and either can connect to the vertical barrel or horizontal tub.
